New short-term rental regulations passed — what hosts need to know

The new short-term rental rules passed in March. We sat with three lawyers and the local DIAN office and asked dumb questions until we understood it. The headline:
Registration is now mandatory for any property listed on a platform (Airbnb, Booking, VRBO, etc.) for more than 30 days a year. It's surprisingly simple — online portal, takes under an hour, costs ~85,000 COP. Failing to register risks fines that scale with property value.
For our guests: nothing changes. Every Travel Mi unit was registered the week the law passed. We just want hosts in the broader community to know it's not as scary as it sounds.
Full breakdown with the registration walkthrough coming next week.
