A walking route from Patio Bonito to El Tesoro that doesn't kill you
Yes, it's uphill. No, you don't need a guide. Three hours, seven stops, ends with arepas and a view.
Three hours, seven stops, ends with arepas and a view. You don't need a guide. You don't need a tour. You need water, comfortable shoes, and a willingness to be sweaty.
Start at Patio Bonito (south end of El Poblado, easy taxi). Walk up. Pause for a juice at the unsigned cart on Carrera 32. Cut east at the church. Climb. Pause for breath at Mirador de las Palmas. Climb a bit more. Arepas at the family place at the top — they don't have a sign either; you'll find it because there's a queue at noon and nothing else around.
Full piece with map and stop-by-stop notes coming next week.
