Clear your calendar for: Desfile de Silleteros (the headline parade — go early, go to the side streets), Trovadores Festival (free, free, free), Cabalgata (the horse parade — if you've never seen 5,000 horses on a city street, do this), Plaza Cisneros night concerts.
Skip: the orchid expo (overcrowded, underwhelming) and the tourist Cabalgata buses (the parade is better walked).
