Day trips by chiva: Guatapé, Santa Fe, and the one nobody mentions
We don't book the standard tour. Here's the route we send guests on instead — same destinations, half the cost, no pan flute soundtrack.
The standard chiva tour is fine. It's also 380,000 COP, has a pan-flute soundtrack on a loop, and stops at the leather shop your guide gets a commission from.
Here's the route we send our guests on instead. Same destinations (Guatapé, Piedra del Peñol, Santa Fe de Antioquia). Half the cost. No commissions. Real lunch in a real town.
Hire a private driver from the rank near Hotel Nutibara. Six hours, ~180,000 COP, you control the stops. The one nobody mentions: Marinilla, on the way back from Guatapé. Fifteen minutes from the highway, prettier than anyone advertises, has the best aguardiente bar in the region.
Full route with driver contact info and stop-by-stop notes coming soon.
